Longevity:   Big Brothers Big Sisters of America has been around for over 100 years nationally and over 40 in Kansas City.

Growth:  We serve over 1,000 active matches in the Greater Kansas City area. Over the past 5 years, our agency has grown by 40%.  BBBS-KC is one of the fastest growing Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies in the country.

Impact:  The children we help are children who really want and need a friend.  Children from one parent homes make up 25% of the school-aged population.  However this group makes up 90% of juvenile court cases, 60% of teen suicides and 90% of high school drop outs.  When matched with a Big their chances for success vastly improve.  Studies show that these same children, once matched with a Big, experience better grades, improved self esteem, are more likely to attend and graduate college and are less likely to do drugs.

Community:  Every dollar donated to BBBS-KC stays in Kansas City and is used to help support the children of our community.  It takes approximatly $1,200 to match a child for one year.
